Organizational Strategy
A good strategy makes choices clear. Putting it to work calls for choices about structure,
people, and how decisions get made.
Where will you focus? What needs to work differently? Who needs to make which decisions?
We help clients build strategic plans and put them to work. Sometimes that means redesigning part of the
organization, improving how teams work, or planning for the people and skills the business will need. We start with
the business challenge and work alongside the leaders who own it.
What We Work On
Strategic Planning and Facilitation
We help leadership teams build or refine a strategic plan. We gather the right input, help the team make the hard choices, and turn those choices into priorities people can act on.
Organizational Development
When hard work is not producing the results leaders expect, we look at how work actually happens: decisions, handoffs, and the habits that help or hinder progress. Then we help leaders change what is getting in the way.
Culture Assessment and Strategy
We help clients understand the unwritten rules that shape everyday behavior, then decide which ones to reinforce and which ones need to change.
Organizational Design
We help clients make clear choices about structure, roles, and decision making so the organization can deliver on its strategy. The focus may be a whole company, a business unit, or one function.
Strategic Workforce Planning
We help clients see where their current workforce can meet future business needs, where gaps are emerging, and what to do about them.
Examples from Client Work
Here are three examples of what clients have accomplished.
A first strategic plan
A senior leadership team built its first strategic plan, setting priorities to support its ambition to grow from $200 million to $400 million in revenue.
A more ambitious regional budget
Leaders built their first regional strategic plan together, clarified who would make which decisions, and gained earlier, clearer information from the head of the region. Together, they submitted a unified regional budget that was more than one-third higher than the previous year’s.
A division doing more strategic work
Leaders reshaped a major division, making deliberate choices about where to pull back and where to invest. Their strategic plan and workforce planning data guided talent decisions. They invested in a new rotational development program that helped employees prepare for new roles and made employee development a clearer priority across the division.

Terri B., Regional President
People are the key to success. Putting the right talent into the right structure was critical to enabling our strategy and enabling people to achieve and grow.
Lumin Partners was a valued partner in optimizing these items. They forced our clear articulation of goals and needs. They ably guided our decisions as to the structure and talent (internal or external) we needed. They brought a change navigation lens to our roadmap and made sure we had the right support in place to help us execute and sustain these changes.
